Natural Organic Soap- 85% Certified Organic Ingredients

Coming Soon... our Natural organic soaps (85% certified organic ingredients) are in the works and should be available by the end of the summer.  This page will be devoted to our organic bar soap.  Our organic soaps are made from certified organic extra virgin olive oil, certified organic coconut oil, certified organic palm oil, and certified organic high oleic sunflower oil unless otherwise noted.  Ingredients will later be noted on the Ingredients page of the website. The "standard" bar size will be approx 2.5"x2.5" and 1" thick and approx 3-3.5 oz. This will be a very friendly size for most individuals without being "too small".

Why are your soaps not 100% organic?  First, there is no such thing.  Lye is necessary to make soap, and is not organic.  Therefore, soap is not 100% organic.  The good news is the main ingredient in soap, is not lye, rather oils (olive, coconut, etc.).  Our soap formulas are about 85% oil.  Therefore, if all of our base oils are certified organic, then our soap is about 85% organic.  Although we are not "certified organic" (not certified handlers), the standard for cosmetic certification is 70% organic ingredients, which we are well above.  We can show you the receipts for the oils if you like.  Second, I suppose it would be fun to elaborate on the insanity of becoming "certified organic" by the department of agriculture, since we don't grow any crops, but we'll save that for another day. To read about organic certification, visit the USDA website, but be prepared for a technical mess, as with any government website, if you like that kind of thing.

We are very excited to offer these products, certified or not,  and we hope to eventually make all of our products as organic as possible in the coming years.
